About AIKO

Bringing Pure Japanese Matcha to Modern Australia

AIKO was born from a simple desire: to bring the purest, highest quality Japanese matcha to Australia – and to make it part of a modern, mindful lifestyle.

Founded in Perth by two close friends (Gina & Karen), Aiko Matcha is an online start-up dedicated to sharing the beauty and benefits of authentic Japanese matcha. Our matcha is grown in Uji and other revered growing regions of Japan to source ceremonial-grade matcha that is freshly stone-ground upon order. This ensures maximum freshness, vibrant colour, and rich umami flavour in every serving.

What sets us apart? We’re proud to be the first in Australia to offer pure Uji Decaf Matcha – a caffeine-free matcha that retains the same quality, depth, and tradition as its classic counterpart. Perfect for evenings, pregnancy, or anyone seeking a gentler option without compromising on taste or experience.

At Aiko Matcha, we value transparency, quality, and calm. Our aesthetic is minimal, but our standards are high. Every product is thoughtfully curated to fit seamlessly into your daily ritual – whether you’re new to matcha or a seasoned drinker.

More than a beverage, matcha is a moment. And we’re here to make that moment beautiful, accessible, and unforgettable.

Why “AIKO”?

In Japanese, AIKO あいこ (愛子) translates to “child of love”.

We chose this name because our brand was born from love –

Love for the ritual of matcha,

Love for Japanese culture,

And love for creating calm movements in a fast-moving world.

AIKO Matcha is our love letter to quality living – crafted with care, grounded in tradition, and meant to be shared.
